Today, Representative David Trone (D-MD), along with Education and Labor Committee Chairman Bobby Scott (D-VA) and Rep. Anthony Brown (D-MD), toured the Plumbers and Gasfitters Local 5 Training Facility in Lanham, MD. Following the tour, the group hosted a roundtable with Maryland labor leaders to discuss issues pertinent to their sectors.

Last week, Congressman Anthony G. Brown (MD-04) and Senator Ben Cardin (D-MD), led a letter to the Bureau of the Fiscal Service (Fiscal Service) expressing their opposition to ongoing efforts to relocate 79 employees in Hyattsville, MD and Washington, DC to Parkersburg, WV. The letter is signed all Democratic Members of the Maryland Delegation - Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD), Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (MD-5), Congressman Elijah Cummings (MD-07), Congressman Dutch Ruppersberger (MD-02), Congressman John Sarbanes (MD-03), Congressman Jamie Raskin (MD-08), and Congressman David Trone (MD-06).

Brown (MD-04) introduced the Fair Pay For All Act, which would guarantee equal pay for every American - regardless of who they are or who they love - by amending the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) of 1938 to expand the definition of sex to include “sexual orientation” and “gender identity.”

Bustle contacted the offices of every seated member of Congress by both phone and email to give each the opportunity to respond. Bustle requested a statement up to three times via email, and those members of Congress who did not respond to any emails were contacted by phone. Some lawmakers matched Bustle's enthusiasm on the issue, while others declined to comment (staffers for some even hung up on us). Many more lawmakers simply didn't offer a response.
