Brown Secures More than $16 Million for Community Projects in Appropriations BillFunding Secured for Community Projects is the Most in the Maryland Delegation

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Anthony G. Brown (MD-04) announced that he had secured $16.45 million in funding for nine community projects in Maryland’s Fourth Congressional District as part of the annual appropriations package. Congressman Brown secured the most community funding of any member of Maryland’s Congressional delegation as part of the appropriations package. Funding was secured for education, public health, community improvement, and safety projects. “Our recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic calls for new investments in the future of our communities. Cumulatively, this funding will help improve quality of life for residents of Prince George’s and Anne Arundel Counties by supporting critical educational, public health, public safety, and environmental initiatives,” said Congressman Brown. “We must do more for our communities to meet the needs of those we serve. Funding for these projects was requested by Rep. Brown through the House Committee on Appropriations’ Community Project Funding allocation. Each Member is limited to no more than ten Community Project Funding requests. Combined earmarks are capped at one percent of all discretionary spending. ### |
