Congressman Anthony Brown: “With the Passing of Steve Sachs, Our State has Lost an Exemplary Public Servant”
Washington, January 12, 2022
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Anthony G. Brown (MD-04) released the following statement on the passing of former Maryland Attorney General Stephen H. Sachs:
“With the passing of Steve Sachs, our state has lost an exemplary public servant committed to the rule of law, and I’ve lost a dear friend and confidant. Steve welcomed me, as a young lawyer, into Wilmer, Cutler, Pickering where we both practiced and was an extraordinary mentor. I saw firsthand on a daily basis how Steve fought for what he thought was right. He was a fierce advocate for the Bill of Rights and our communities here in Maryland.
“Steve worked every day to ensure that everyone plays by the same set of rules and did so with respect and integrity. He fought for the underdogs and was their champion. I knew him as a man of keen intellect and generosity. His insights on law and life were always thoughtful and grounded in service. My prayers are with his family during this difficult time.”
